Sea Drift washes up on West Bay Beach

High winds around West Vancouver on the morning of Monday 12-Jul downed trees, knocked out power to thousands of residents and blew a yacht onto the beach at West Bay.

Just after 10 a.m., West Vancouver police and firefighters were called to a stretch of West Bay beach, where an apparently 42-foot ketch rigged Sea Drift had slipped from its moorings in the rough weather and washed up on the rocky shore. We do not know the fate of the private yacht but hope the owner was able, on the next high tide, to refloat her with minimal damage.

If you are the owner of the Sea Drift or have additional details please post a comment below.
